Amazing Weekend

Hey everyone! Sorry for being a bum blogger! Things have been way hand and yellow was granny style. Which ever team won at the end got a prize : ). Needless to say me and Dave won and my prize was a ticket to the next days busy the past month with school and work and what not. This past weekend I had the opportunity to up to Utah for fall break. I had an amazing time! Mom and Ethan drove up Wednesday and I followed by flying down Thursday night. Friday was a day filled with shopping and Starbucks! Could life get any better?! Friday night I had a date with a boy who I had met at church my last Sunday in Prague. We had been talking ever sense we had both gotten back to the states. Anyways, Friday night was the best date I have had in a while. It was a double date with Dave's brother Matt. First we went to this Ti Food restaurant and had a very good dinner. After talking for a while and finishing up eating our dinner we proceeded to the next part of our date which just happened to be BOWLING!! Even though I am not that good I still have a blast playing. We played our first game and then when the second game started they boys had twisted the rules around on us. We each had our own bag of skittles and each color had a different meaning. We would pick two at a time and whatever the colors were we had to do what they said. For instance green was opposite hand and yellow was granny style and whoever won got a prize. Needless to day Dave and I won and my prize was a ticket to the BYU football game against New Mexico. Saturday was a fun day as well. Ethan and I were able to visit the Schmidt's and Great Grandma Parkin! It was an amazing reunion. Then I was able to go home and get ready for the game. The game was so fun. It was pretty cold outside but that didn't stop the fans from going crazy! After the game we had dinner and then watch a movie. Sunday I woke up to a white blanket of snow on the ground. I love the snow! It was truly a Winter Wonderland.

Meet Mya!

Okay so I totally have way EXCITING news! I adopted a dog. Her name is Mya and I found her at the Phoenix Humane Society on Saturday. As you can see she is no small dog, she is a half German Shepard and half Siberian Husky. She is 4 years old and her birthday is in May. I am not even kidding when I say it was love at first sight :) I went down to the Phoenix Humane Society on Saturday with my mom. I have been thinking about getting a dog for a while and finally decided that its what I really wanted. So I was looking at all the dogs and passed by Mya because a family was already looking at her. So I decided to look at another dog. While I was looking at this other dog I had a feeling to wait until the family was done looking at Mya. So when they finished I asked if I could see her, so they brought her in and like I said love at first sight!

Yeah you are welcome! Cali with the girls!

Hey everyone! I have a feeling that sense I am home everyone thinks I am finished blogging. Wrong! Just the opposite, I am going to keep this baby going. Well so many amazing things have happened in that past 2 weeks! School started last Monday! I am not sure if it is weird that I am excited or if it is a good thing, but I am so stoked that I am in school! All of my classes are awesome and my teachers well they are teachers haha. Plus to top off my first week of school me and the girls (Emily, Kim, and Erin) decided to have one last vacation to California for Labor Day. Let me tell you all that this was by far the funnest trip of my summer. Prague was amazing on it's own level. This trip to California was non-stop crazy fun! I am not one for 5 hour car rides but this one was seriously the funnest car ride of my LIFE! Not to mention Kim was crazy hyper the whole 5 hours there and back. We had a blast while we were there. We do what most girls do when in Cali and that is tan and look at cute surfer boys :). We also played sand volleyball! I have never played before and it was one of the funnest games I have ever played. I was not that good but it was way fun trying. Our trip also consisted of going out to dinner with some of the boys Emily sold with over the summer and just hanging out! We also had a CD that we listened to all the way through about 20 times. It was our California theme song CD!So if you look super close at Kim's eye you will notice that it is black and blue. Well at the beach Kim decided to come behind me and pick me up or something, but I didn't know what she was doing so I kind freaked out when she tackled me and we fell in the water. I hit something with me elbow but was not sure what. I thought it was her knee or something. Then not even 5 minutes after I hit her, I realized that I elbowed her eye and it started to swell. Then that same night Emily accidentally hit her in the same eye. Poor Kim :(. We love you!

We spent of course most of our time at the beach and were able to see Emily! It was so much fun. Now I am just working and getting ready for school to start on Monday :( . Ha actually I am so stoked for school to start! I have a feeling this school year is going to be an amazing year! Oh I almost forgot to tell, I am finished with the Twilight saga! I just finish Breaking Dawn last night! I LOVE IT! I am so excited for the movie to come out! Well here are some pictures from Cali!

Weekend, Opera, and Dinner Cruise

Hey all! Over the weekend all of us just went out dancing and spent fun time because it was our last weekend in Prague. We had a blast. Monday night Janet, Liz, and myself went to the Don Giovanni Opera. I can not even begin to describe how amazing it was. It lasted about three hours and it was all in Italian! So at first it was hard to get in to, but then I got used to it. We were at the theater that Mozart OPENED this play at. It was not a big opera house but the art work and everything was amazing. After Janet took us to her favorite dessert cafe. We all had an amazing night. As for this week it has been busy with school work and finals. I did finish my shopping for everyone and myself. This is be my last post here in Prague :(. But I am very exited to get home Friday. Tonight we had a dinner cruise that our teachers planned for us. It was so much fun. We just went on the river around the Charles bridge. Well I love you all and I will see you all Friday!
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The week and Kutna Hora!

So the last few days have been really busy with school and midterms and final projects! Thursday in my Prague Ideologies we had a guest speaker Dr. Pene. He did an amazing job! He will also be giving another lecture on Tuesday. I am pretty excited about it. After class we all met up at Prague college at 1 and went on a tour of Radio Free Europe. It was so amazing. We were able to tour the building and her from a lady who has been working there for over thirty years. Then we watched a video about RFE and learned what it was. For those of you who don't know, RFE was a free radio broadcast that went on air when WWII was going to let the people know what was really happening. Many reporters have died in the last few years and longer than that. It was awesome to be in the room were huge decisions were made about countries. Today they still receive threats that the building will get bombed and so on. The building is moving to a location right down the street from where it is located now. They are hoping everything will be done by January. Today Nikki, Jenn, Jose, and myself went to Kutna Hora to go see the famous Bone Church. I have never seen so many skulls in my life. It was really interesting and sweet looking. The train ride there was about an hour and we met some pretty nice people. After visiting the church we did a little shopping and then took another little train into the main town, where we got some lunch. It was SO good and there was so much of it. I really liked this town because it was just a town and not so trustiest. We walked around from about and hour and then decided to catch the train back home. Some how we missed our little train ride back to the main station twice. We thought we were going to have to wait for the later train. Then who would have had to wait about three more hours. Some how we caught a train to the main station and caught the train we thought we were going to miss. Everything worked out perfectly! The only thing that stinks about this weekend is that we were unable to get tickets to Freiburg Germany to go see the temple and do baptisms for the dead. Then I told myself "Every thing happens for a reason!". I think I know why know it didn't work and it is for a good reason. Well I love you all and will keep up the posts when I can. Love you and I will see you all next Friday!

A weekend in Cesky Krumlov and an AMAZING Sunday!

Hey all! I am sorry for the delay in posting. I have been super busy with midterms and traveling. Friday our entire group left for Chesky Krumlov. It is a small town about 2 and a half hours away. When we arrived Friday afternoon, we had a couple hours to walk around and do a little shopping. Then at three we had a hour long tour of the castle there. It was so awesome and huge! After the tour we had the rest of Friday and Saturday to do what we wanted. Friday after the tour I went back to our hotel and slept for a couple hours while Nikki was taking an amazing bath in our rooms Huge bath tub. When she was finished I was up and had an amazing bubble bath! Our room was so cute but very small. Plus with us just taking two baths our room was very hot. Nikki and I started to get claustrophobic and I guess sense a little culture shock. We both just had random thoughts and watching the news didn't help. So when we finally went out, we got some dinner and then I went dancing for a little bit with the group. It was not that fun because the place where we were was full of smoke and people drinking. Saturday was so fun. A big group of us went rafting! It was a BLAST! After that we all got dinner and then the bus picked us up and we headed back to Prague. Sunday was so amazing. Nikki, myself and Janet were able to witness a local girls baptism and were invited to say after for what they call "Fat Sunday". In America it is called "Linger Longer". The spirit I felt was so strong and missionaries were so amazing. We ended up staying there for SIX hours! The best six hours ever. Usually in church I am tired and really don't pay to much attention but I was taking notes writing everything down anyone said. Plus I have started reading more at night when reading alone. Being here has really made me realize how much I appreciate my mom and the little things like not having to pay to use a public bathroom. I realize how grateful I am for my amazing friends and what an impact they have on me. Thank you all for everything you do for me. Tonight Nikki and I went to the Book of Mormon class at the church and had a blast. We have really made some good friends with sisters in the ward and the sister missionaries and elders. Well I hope you enjoy. Love you all big! Oh p.s. My camera died our first day there so I didn't get alot of pictures.

Long day

Hey all! Today was a VERY long and fun day. Today in my Ideo class we watched a movie on WWII. It was a very good long movie. After the movie and class that ended at about 11:20am we had time for a lunch break and then had to meet back up at Prague College to go meet out tour guide for the Jewish Quarter. We went to 4 different Synagogue's and saw the old Jewish Cemetery. All of these are found in what used to be the old Ghetto. It was a very eye opening experience and taking it all in was amazing. That tour went from 2:30 to about 5:40. It was long and by the end my feet were killing me! But in one of the old synagogue's they had names of all the Jews killed there. I found on the wall the last name Greenburg( It was spelled kind of different). That is my Great grandpas last name. I'm not sure if there is any connection, but it was crazy to see that and think there might be some connection. We saw a lot of old clothes and pictures, and much more. After the tour a bunch of us went to dinner. It was such a blast. Here costumer service is not big so it is rude to ask for your bill and ask them to hurry. Dinner here is like an all night ordeal. Again it has been raining all day, no surprise there. But it is nice to be in the rain. This weekend both classes are going to Bohemia to go on a tour of one of the castles and then the rest of the weekend is free. I think a lot of us are going rafting. We have heard it is a good place for that. So I wont be bloging for a few days, sorry. Well I think Nikki and I are going to die her hair, well only some and then pack for tomorrow and go to be. I love and miss you all!!

Karlstein Castle

Hey all! Today was a very eventful day. We had the pleasure of having another guest speaker in my Political Ideologies class. She was amazing. She talked about Fascism and communism and how it affected her life and how it affected many different countries. In my Art History class we went on a tour of the Karlstein Castle. Oh man it was something else. When we first arrived there, there was about a mile hike to the top where the castle was. Well we all decided to pitch in and take a carriage! It was so fun! When we finally got to the castle it started raining very hard and it was freezing out. We were not allowed to take pictures in the castle so all the ones are of us outside. The tour took about 2 hours when it should have only taken about seventy minutes. We almost missed our bus back home. The driver of the bus I swear drove like a 5 year old. I guess he was running late and the drive home was about an hour, so he decided to drive like a CRAZY man to try and make it on time. I think I got some pretty serious wip lash. He was seriously trying to kill us. Oh ha I finally did laundry today! Let me tell you how nice it is to have clean clothes! I am hoping that will last me until I come home. Oh all of you keep Ethan in your prayers. He is sick and could us the help hehe. Well I love you all but I need to get prayers and scripture reading done. Love you all with all my heart!!!!!!!! Sweet dreams my loves.

Budapest

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay on a new post, I have been in Budapest for the last 3 days and did not have time to post. So Budapest was for sure amazing! The train ride there was horrible ha. The cars were very small and there were three beds on top of each other. Me and Lix ended up having to sleep on the very top bunk. This stunk because we always would forget how close we were to the ceiling and hit our heads. When we first got there it was about 10 in the morning and we had a couple hours to do whatever before we went to listen to a guest speaker. He talked about communism and WWII and how it affected Hungary. After that we had the rest of the day to explore and do whatever we wanted to. Donna, Jane, Liz and I just walked around and looked in shops and messed around. Saturday morning our class met up and went to the House of Terror. That night we went to this bridge that had tons of fun things going on. Shops and food stands were set up all along the sides of the bridge. At the end of the bridge on both sides were bands playing different kinds of music. Later that night me, Donna, and Jane went dancing and had a great time. There are so many good looking guys here ha ha I'm guessing nine out of ten are naturally good looking. Sunday we hand to be out of our hotel rooms by noon and had the day to do whatever until six thirty when we met back up at the hotel to leave for the train station. Our train was and hour late. Me and Liz were on a mission to get the two middle bunks ha ha and we did. Our train ride back took to long because it stopped many times in the night to let other trains pass so they could be on time. But during the night there was an awesome storm and I was able to watch the lightening and the rain hit the window. It kind of made me feel like I was in Sioux Falls again. Today was kind of a lazy day because I was dead tired and missed class because I was kind feeling under the weather and decided to sleep today. Me, Nikki, Donna, and Kyle took the tram to the other side of the river and did what we like to call "Souvie" shopping. We found some cute things and I bought the cutest jacket for 200 K, which would be about 17 dollars in U.S money. It was an amazing buy! Well I am off to bed so I will feel good for tomorrows classes. Goodnight all. Love you

New Moon. . . Addicted

Dinner Party

So tonight we had a huge dinner party, with all of the Mcc students and some of the NYC students that are here. Each of us made a little something to bring. It was way fun and a good way to meet people. Everyone decided that we would eat the dinner in mine and Nikki tiny little kitchen on our floor. Some how everyone fit. Oh and here is what happens when you wear shoes walking that are not comfortable. This is what you do to fix it. Nikki and I decided to do a little surgery on my heal. No worries it only hurt a little.
